After an hour of nervous sleep last night, I was back on the tube. Flipping to channel 666, I found this…

Uniform returns this year with another installment of bile and nightmares called The Long Walk. The LP length release is due out August 17th via Sacred Bones. Core members, multi-instrumentalist Ben Greenberg and vocalist Michael Berdan, enlisted the help of drummer Greg Fox (Liturgy, Zs, Guardian Alien) for their upcoming album. Utilizing triggered samples, live drumming, guitar, and synths, the trio recorded The Long Walk at the Brooklyn studio Strange Weather at the beginning of 2018. The follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2017 effort Wake in Fright, the new record finds the group eschewing sequenced tracks in favor of a more raw, first-take approach.

The Walk” is our first listen in and it’s blisteringly bleak. Erupting in a hot lava storm of pummeling noise while Berdan’s vocals howl in menacing narration, the group sounds on the verge of sonic collapse throughout. The video for the cut was directed by Danny Perez, and it’s the perfect accompaniment to Uniform’s horror show of sound. Perez delivers wigged-out and eye-glitched visuals as we tune into a news station broadcast straight from the pits of hell.
