Leland Jackson‘s Ahnnu project is back with a new track called “Dovetail,” off the producer’s new EP entitled Parallax out today on Leaving Records. Operating in a minimalist mode while flying high at 160 bpm, Parallax finds the producer pushing his Footwork inspired rhythms into some far-out territory. On “Dovetail,” our newest listen in on the EP, Jackson continues to eclipse the form’s hyper-kinetic dance-battle format to craft a more contemplative approach to the genre. Lunar aspects prevail here as a bevy of mysterious sounds are collaged with skittering snippets of speedy rhythm to create something akin to Footwork for shadow puppets.
