Oneohtrix Point Never will follow up his 2018 Warp Records LP Age Of with a new EP entitled “Love In The Time Of Lexapro” due out November 23rd via the label. Today, Daniel Lopatin made the upcoming release’s title track available for streaming. Simmering pads open the cut with a mercurial air before an unexpected interruption pulls the plug on this ambient direction. When the sound current returns, eerie synth notes hint at a haunting melody while ghostly knocks of percussion make their apparitional appearance. Soon though, a flurry of silvery keys take over ascending and descending in dizzying scales of serotonin-releasing exuberance.
This week, OPN performed his first recorded session with his MYRIAD ensemble for KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic.” He was joined on the recording by Eli Keszler, Kelly Moran, and Aaron David Ross with the group performing “Love In The Time of Lexapro,” the Age Of tracks “The Station,” “RayCats,” “Toys 2,” “Babylon,” “We’ll Take It,” and “Black Snow,” as well as “Chrome Country” from R Plus Seven.
