Oh Sees dropped their Smote Reverser LP this year via Castle Face Records, and it’s a heavy duty slab of metal-fueled prog courtesy of John Dwyer and the gang. “Enrique El Cobrador” throbs with a savage low-end while keyboardist Tom Dolas‘ adds organ lines with a vintage vibe. Meanwhile, Dwyer’s marauding guitar unleashes a destructive energy as he narrates a tale of bloodthirsty vengence. The video for the track is directed by Alexis Giroux and it features animation from Massimo Colarusso, as well as the director himself. Following a mace wielding villain as he wrecks planetary damage on an unsuspecting race of goblin-like creatures, this place never stood a chance against “Enrique El Cobrador”‘s rapacious evildoer.
