Slovenska Televiza‘s EP Documento came out this past September on Peripheral Minimal, the Bristol-based synth-wave label that recently increased its headquarters to Spain. The minimal electronics duo featuring Wladyslaw Trejo on analog synths and Lunademayo on vocals hails from the Spanish cities of Valladolid and Barcelona. This week, the pair has a new video directed by the Brazilian-based illustrator/animator Yannet Briggiler for the title track off their recent release.
“Slovenska Televiza” closes the 5-track collection and unlike the previous songs it is all instrumental. Discussing the video, the band offers:
“The animation has a narrative construction by means of ellipses. The viewer who articulates the fragments can create/observe/read/find a plot that connects the scenes.”
Employing minimally rendered human, animal, and architectural forms, Briggiler’s protagonist seems to long for relief from the confines of his 2-D space, while the animator’s inventive visual techniques might offer just that–a way out into 3-D space.
