Daughters released their first album in 8 years in 2018 and it was a thrilling return to form for the noise rock four-piece. You Won’t Get What You Want (Ipecac Recordings) is a masterpiece of angst and tension landing it on our Favorite Albums of 2018 list, while the LP’s standout single “Satan In the Wait” was our Favorite Track of the year. This week the band returns with their first ever video for the album cut “Less Sex.”
The video is directed by former Daughters’ member Jeremy Wabiszczewicz and it stars the band’s frontman Alexis Marshall and model Christine Adams. Filmed in a minimalist, photographic style, the black and white imagery features a tensely coiled and electric performance from Marshall, Adams daunting presence, as well as hair raising cameos from a wolf and snake. Discussing the video with Rolling Stone, Wabiszczewicz explains: “”Less Sex” is a juxtaposition of human beauty and ugliness.”
