Farah‘s “The Only Ones” 12″, first released in 2017 on Italians Do It Better, is back in print via the label. The EP’s 2nd pressing is coming out on 180 gram pink champagne vinyl. In addition, Farah has a new video for the record’s title cut.

On “The Only Ones” funky electro meets cinematic house, while Farah’s laconic vocal delivery in English and Farsi is ultra cool to the touch. Using a spoken word approach, she crafts everyday phrases into wistful, enigmatic expressions. Combining the track’s dizzying melodies and driving rhythms with Farah’s elliptical phrasing, “The Only Ones” ultimately exudes a somber mood.

Following in those footsteps, the animated video for the cut offers a cautionary tale. Directed by Robotina, the animation directing duo comprised of Sara Taigher and Yassmin Yaghmai, the pair’s elemental line drawings are hewn in neon color from pitch black negative space. Meanwhile, Farah’s disco odyssey is translated into a desolate hunt for companionship as the video’s central characters spiral downward in their numbing search for stimulation and excess.
