Telekinesis is back this year with a brand new album. Michael Benjamin Lerner is readying the project’s newest LP Effluxion (from the Latin term meaning �to flow�) for release on February 22nd via Merge Records. Following up on January’s video for the Effluxion track “Cut the Quick,” photographer/video director Kayhl Cooper returns to do the honors on these new visuals for “A Place in the Sun.”
While the video involves a fairly straight forward concept–two dozen people listen to the cut on a set of headphones–the results are pretty special. Cooper explains: “This video was filmed in people’s personal spaces: their apartment, their workplace, their studio. I told them they could dance or sit still, but they really just had to listen. Having this song in the headphones immediately put them in a completely separate world. I sort of just let the camera run from there.”
