Drug Apts. released a ferocious debut LP of empowered punk this past March entitled Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances (Mt. St. Mtn.), and now they have a brand new video for the album track “New Nam.” The Sacramento-based group recorded their long-player with Tim Green (The Nation Of Ulysses, The Fucking Champs), who also now joins the band as they get set to head out on another West Coast tour. Travels to the East Coast and UK are promised for this coming August and September.
While Drug Apts. discography only includes a 2016 self-titled EP, as well as a 2017 10″ entitled “Drug Apts./Dub Apts.,” both out on Tyler Pope‘s (LCD Soundsystem, !!!) Berlin-based label Interference Pattern Records, the group sure has worked with a bunch of intriguing producers. The EP saw Drug Apts. teamed-up with Death Grips’ Zach Hill and Andy Morin, while the 10″ inch included dub mixes from legend Denis Bovell, who also did production work back in the day for UK post-punk groups like The Slits and The Pop Group.
Below, you can watch the band’s video for “New Nam,” directed by Adam Murphy. After the Vimeo embed, don’t miss Drug Apts. upcoming West Coast tour dates.
