Xiu Xiu return today with a new video for their track “It Comes Out as a Joke.” The third installment from the Girl with Basket of Fruit audiovisual trilogy, the video follows-up on the mythic scope of the two previous efforts, “Scisssssssors” and “Pumpkin Attack on Mommy and Daddy.” Xiu Xiu’s Angela Seo partners again with Anna Lian Tes to do the directorial honors here, and principal players from Acts I and II, such as the performance artists Ron Athey and Elliot Reed, as well as Seo and Xiu Xiu partner Jamie Stewart, all return to make their enigmatic appearances.
Look for Xiu Xiu to begin their US tour on May 1st. The band’s line-up will include Jamie Stewart, Thor Harris (Swans, Devendra Banhardt) and Christopher Pravdica (Swans, Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Don’t miss a list of the upcoming dates after the YouTube embed below.
