Bary Center returns with a killer new video for the track “Think Again” off his Spring 2019 self-release Dystopia is for Lovers. The project is the work of the West Virginia-based electronic musician and videographer Mark Williams. We last heard from the artist this past October when he dropped his video for the Dystopia… track “Image Thing.” The result of a Creative Works grant from Marshall University, that video explored issues of mental health in the face of environmental destruction. This newest effort finds Williams returning to do the visual honors while also starring as the video’s protagonist.
The track itself is a humid and crepuscular slice of hypnotic techno set to smolder on a slow burn. The video opens with Williams doing a little late night reading in every musician’s favorite production bible, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Music Composition. Drifting off to sleep, he enters a solarized dream where various looped scenarios play out before the producer takes center stage on the decks in a wide open field. Donning a strange bird-mask and super-charged by electrifying energy, even Williams is surprised when he wakes up the next morning to find his beaked disguise on the nightstand next to him.
