Watch: Raveyards “Fazer”

Raveyards drop a wild, new video for their track “Fazer.” The visuals are directed by band member Francois De Meyer, and he is joined by Alexander Deprez. “Fazer” is a spellbinding track characterized by an ominous, bass-driven ambience, pummeling rhythmic attack, and searing build-ups. It’s the kind of cut that pulls you in immediately and once you’ve crossed the threshold you’re totally immersed in Raveyards’ aphotic world.

Likewise, the time-lapsed visuals are completely hypnotizing. Much like this track’s ability to make you feel suspended in time, the video’s slow-motion unfolding of highly charged moments is nearly impossible to turn away from. Set in a dingy basement lit in lurid reds and blue, and often utilizing strobing visuals, “Fazer” combines sound and vision into a real tour-de-force.

Raveyards hail from Ghent, Belgium. A significant part of their aesthetic program includes hosting live events that fuse audio and visuals, as well as location, into an immersive experience. The band, which currently includes conceptualist/producer Francois De Meyer and Brent Vanneste on synth and vocals, as well as Joris Casier on drums, has hosted numerous events in locations like churches, old warehouses, cellars, castles, and the woods. Raveyards’ “GHOST” events continue at Citadelpark in Ghent on May 3rd. You can check out all of the group’s upcoming events after the YouTube embed below.
