Reptaliens are readying their sophomore LP VALIS for release on April 26th via Captured Tracks. Today, we watch the band’s new video for their third single, “Give Me Your Love.” Following up on their visual efforts for “Shuggie II” and “Venetian Blinds,” Reptaliens newest video takes us deeper into their conspiratorial world of alien visitation and government cover-up.
Portland musician Bryson Cone does the directorial honors here in what he calls a secret follow-up to the group’s video for “If You Want,” off the Reptaliens’ debut FM-2030. Inspired by the band’s playful blend of sci-fi themes and dark humor, Cone explains:
“‘Give Me Your Love’ is the secret surreal world inside every pet store in your weirdest dreams. For years, NASA has been planting cameras on distant planets and documenting jungle habitats. In this story, we discover what happens when one reptile store owner assembles a device to intercept those signals and synthesize virtual experiences for his customers.”
Reptaliens played the Treefort Music Festival in Boise last month, and they are currently touring the US. Check out the group’s upcoming live dates after the YouTube embed below.
