This week Dystant Recordings released their “Episode Invite 004” podcast featuring 11xxx27. The Naples-based label run by Antonio Russo launched the podcast series to feature fellow, emerging techno artists. So far it has included producers like X-303, Olorr, and Luca La Rocca. Russo also reports future episodes will be helmed by Stanislav Tolkachev, Vsk, Manuel Di Martino, and Flug–to name a few.
11xxx27 is the Italian producer Erminio Granata. He is also co-owner of the label Infidel Bodies with Marika Pagano. In addition, the musician operates the techno-focused project Code27, and he is one half of the electronic duo Hyperlacrimae. In September of 2018, 11xxx27 released his No Hope, No Fear LP via Infidel Bodies. Using an analog hardware set-up as well as sampled historical material, the 14-track effort was a bleak sonic meditation on the destructive forces of war.
Episode Invite 004 finds 11xxx27 moving from ambient atmospheres into the realms of hard-driving industrial techno. The producer’s style is vivid and cinematic throughout, and once this set gets cooking, it is propelled by blistering percussion. Dystant Recordings reports that 11xxx27 will release a limited-edition red vinyl 12″ this coming September with an EBM remix by Stanislav Tolkachev included. We’ll keep you posted!
