Kazu released her track “Salty” this past April. The cut is off her forthcoming solo debut LP Adult Baby due out September 13th via her new label Adult Baby Records. The album finds the former Blonde Redhead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist stepping out to helm her own project and label. On “Salty,” she dishes up glimmering, sun-washed pop.
Today, Kazu has a new remix of the track from the LA producer Nosaj Thing. The original’s breezy arpeggiating synth-line is now foregrounded by galloping percussion, and while the drums provide a club-ready vibe, the filtered kicks give it a smoked-out, late night feel. In addition, Nosaj Thing’s beguiling production means that something like a swelling pad magically emerges as a vaporous trail of Kazu’s tantalizing voice. Meanwhile, the track is now oriented around the mantric refrain, “Let my mind fall,” and it sounds like sagely advice!
