Watch: Antonioni “Stutter Step”

Antonioni shows us how to do the “Stutter Step” in this new video and now everybody’s doing it! Directed by the band’s drummer and multi-media artist Kyle Todaro, the video stars singer Sarah Pasillas alongside the improv dancing of Seattle artist, Matte Demon. Todaro captures the band’s energy through various performance shots using crisp monochromatic images and various lens distortions to give the video a vintage and stylized feel, but it’s Demon’s unhinged dancing that takes this over the top.

“Stutter Step” continues to prove Antonioni is more than worthy to carry the mantel of Northwest indie-pop and the band sounds “classic” in all the best ways on this exuberant track. You can find the cut on the group’s 2019 EP “The Odds Were All Beating Me” out now on Den Tapes. The band has several Seattle dates as well as an upcoming September tour. Don’t miss the local dates after the YouTube embed below, and, while you’re at it, check out Kyle Todaro’s other videos for the band, “Easy Listener” and “Lullablaze.”
