Wrinkles have a new video for their track “Some Days” off the band’s upcoming LP Other Days out August 14th via Anything Bagel/Bee Side Cassettes. The five-piece hails from Missoula, MT and the groups’ upcoming effort follows up on their 2016 long-player Separation Anxiety. Other Days was recorded by Nicholas and Cathy Wilbur at the Unknown in Anacortes, WA and was mixed and mastered by Mike Ditrio in Olympia, WA.
“Some Days'” exuberant energy makes for a wild ride on this manic track. Headlong drumming and a syncopated beat set this cut on overdrive as knotted melodies chase maddening rhythms like a dog after its’ tail. Meanwhile, singer Jon Cardiello narrates a fraught story about dealing with the ups-and-downs in life as we follow his roller coaster of emotions across alternating lyrical sentiments like, “Sometimes I listen to every album I can/Show it to me;” contrasted by the downside, “Other days I don’t feel anything at all/Anxiety.”
The video for the track is directed by Marshall Granger. Featuring two different versions of Cardiello to echo his alternating moods, we watch one spiral into a stagnating depression while the other maintains a healthy lifestyle. Soon, though, the two Cardiellos can be seen to exist in the same time and space before coming face to face over a dropped house plant. This leads to a wild chase as the two sides of his personality seem locked in a game of cat and mouse across the frozen landscape…
Look for Wrinkles to release Other Days on limited edition vinyl (including some with screen-printed covers), as well as on limited edition cassette, and digitally. The Missoula-based label Anything Bagel will handle vinyl editions while the Albany, NY-based Bee Side will deliver the cassette editions.
