Ed Carlsen has a new track entitled “Entangled” off his upcoming LP Morning Hour due out on September 27th via Moderna Records. The upcoming album is the composer/musician’s third and follows up on his previous efforts for the label: 2016’s The Journey Tapes and 2017’s Elusive Frames. Written while living in Krakow, Poland, the Italian-born artist recorded and produced the album after returning to Sardinia.

Discussing “Entangled,” the second single off Morning Hour, Ed Carlsen explains:

“The track is about feeling entangled to another person or place. It comes from reading Robert Lanza’s books on biocentrism, where he mixes quantum physics with metaphysics and life beyond death. According to quantum physics, a particle’s behavior in any place within the universe can be influenced by another particle -to which said particle is indeed “entangled”- that is worlds away, without any obvious or physical connection between the two.”

Morning Hour features the musician’s work on guitar and piano, as well as strings from Krakow’s Dobry Ton quartet. Additionally, listening to “Entangled,” as well as the lead single “Words,” you can hear the important role electronics can play in his compositions. Combining these instruments with his definite talent for cinematic sound design, “Entangled” builds introspective mood into a rousing revelation of circling melody and resonating harmony.
