Let’s checkout the new version of the Mudhoney track “One Bad Actor” off the band’s upcoming EP release “Morning in America” due out September 20th via Sub Pop. While the effort collects together seven songs recorded during the group’s sessions for their 2018 LP Digital Garbage, “One Bad Actor” first appeared on the SPF30 split 7? with Hot Snakes. In addition to this cut, “Morning In America” features an alternate version of the Digital Garbage stand-out “Kill Yourself Live,” “Let’s Kill Yourself Live Again,” a Leather Nun cover, “Ensam I Natt,” a cut off a limited EU tour 7″, “Vortex of Lies,” as well as outtakes from the album like: “Snake Oil Charmer,” “Morning in America” and “Creeps Are Everywhere.”
“One Bad Actor” flies high on a fully leaded psych riff straight outta the garage. The atmosphere is charged with wicked oscillations as Mudhoney takes flight over booming bass and tumbling drums. When Mark Arm emerges from the cosmic smoke, he sounds as droll and spectral as ever as he spits out the line, “I’m comin’ for you/Cause nobody else will.” Don’t worry, though, one bad actor never spoils the bunch…
