Composer Ben Babbitt‘s soundtrack for Amanda Kramer‘s film Paris Window is due out August 30th via Not Not Fun. Krammer is the co-founder of the label, as well as 100% Silk, and her 2017 directorial debut won a Jury Prize for Creative Vision at the 2018 Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles (DTLA). For his part, Babbitt has scored the immersive, experiential video game Kentucky Route Zero while also collaborating and performing with artists like Weyes Blood, Eartheater, and Angel Olsen.

Paris Window chronicles the psychological unraveling of two eccentric siblings. While one becomes obsessed with infomercials from a self-help institute, the other falls in love with a mysterious doppelganger. Babbitt follows suit with a gripping soundtrack that combines electronics, strings, percussion, drifting vocals, and closely mic’d sound effects. The composer’s gift for creating sonic tension finds him combing this varied instrumentation with a spellbinding sense for negative space. Cinematic in its’ own right, Babbitt’s score for Paris Window is a fever dream of sound and ambiance.
