LONNY has a new video for her single “Dare You.” The track came out this week and streaming versions of the audio feature the Baton Rouge rapper Quadry. LOONY’s Kira Huszar says that the song was written for someone else to sing until it started to take on a “life of its own.” She explains:
“The production started getting eerier, my vocal ideas got weirder, then my lyrics got darker, and all of a sudden it was like ‘yup okay, this is for me now.'”
“Dare You” finds Huszar narrating a smoldering courtship as she lays down the gauntlet for her affection. Director Kosta Kolev follows suit in this tension-filled video for the song. The visuals feature the dancers Jade Whitney, who also choreographed the movement, and Ken Pham. Intensely physical, their kinetic interplay is the perfect metaphor for “Dare You”‘s tale of desire and restraint.
LOONY will be touring this month in support of Rhye. You can find a list of the upcoming dates after the YouTube embed below. While you’re at it, don’t miss LOONY’s July 2019 video for “Tread.”
