Human Impact has released “Consequences,” the third single from their upcoming self-titled debut LP out March 13th via Ipecac Recordings. The group features longstanding titans of the NYC noise rock scene: singer/guitarist Chris Spencer (Unsane), keyboardist Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop), drummer Phil Puleo (Cop Shoot Cop, Swans) and bassist Chris Pravdica (Swans, Xiu Xiu). The record is produced by Spencer and Coleman and was recorded at BC Studios by Martin Bisi ((Sonic Youth, John Zorn, Bootsy Collins)) with additional recording done at Hoboken Recorders.

“Consequences” finds Human Impact in prime form. Droning atmospherics set a tense mood on the cut before Puleo’s drums rain down with leaden power. As the smoldering scene develops, Spencer joins the fray twisting a distorted guitar line into menacing shapes as he barks stentorian observations like a nutter on the street corner. A slow bleeding incision, “Consequences” gains intensity before spilling out in spasms of noise and spleen.

This coming March, Human Impact will join YOB for a string of West Coast dates beginning on March 19th in Sacramento. The band will also play a NYC record release show on March 14th at Saint Vitus. You can check out the dates after the YouTube embed below.
