Gaytheist starts the week with a new track entitled “Hornswoggled” off their upcoming LP How Long Have I Been On Fire? due out via Hex Records on April 10th. While you won’t find hornswoggled as Merriam-Webster’s “Word of the Day,” the Urban Dictionary might provide you with some interesting insights.
Recorded during the final week of June last year, like the rest of the upcoming record, this track finds Gaytheist leaving behind some of the sludge and doom of previous efforts. While pummeling bass and pounding drums still underpin the cut, frenetic guitar lines thread through like flashes of nervous lightening as singer Jason Rivera eviscerates us all for being so easily…hornswoggled.
Gaytheist has a bunch of live dates planned for the year starting with a show in Portland on March 28th at the Hawthorne Hideaway. You can check out the band’s full tour schedule after the Bandcamp embed below. Hey, while you’re at it, don’t miss “The Dark Deep,” the first single off of How Long Have I Been On Fire?.
