Sonic Boom has debuted new visuals for the track “Things Like This (A Little Bit Deeper)” from his All Things Being Equal LP due out June 5th on Carpark Records. Following up on the upcoming album’s previous video for “The Way That You Live,” this effort is directed and animated by James Siewert. The track extols the benefits of turning inward and serves as an invitation to travel deeply into one’s Being telling us: “Things like this should happen every day.”
Siewert follows suit with some intriguing visual metaphors for the process. Sonic Boom’s Pete Kember appears here as a classic bust on a Grecian pillar. With his head continually coming apart, the animated video offers various vantages inside his parting cranium. Like a Russian doll opening to reveal the next doll or onion of countless layers, Kember’s journey inward pars away the stratum of his psychic being as he travels even beyond his own subatomic makeup.
Sonic Boom will be donating $1 from the sale of every All Things Being Equal album to the environmental advocacy organization Earth Island. You can pre-order the album via Bandcamp.
