Karger Traum returns with “Das Ende” from their upcoming LP III due out July 31st via DKA Records and Fixed Rhythms. The Oklahoma City-based German language duo first came to our attention in 2017 with their video for “Familienlied” off of Such A Dream (DKA Records). Initially a solo project for electronic music producer Blake Lusk, Holy Siege would go on to become Karger Traum with the addition of Taylor McKenzie‘s improvised German vocals.
Continuing to explore an intensely rhythmic brand of Industrial, with nods to EBM, New Wave, and other synth leaning Post Punk, on III Karger Traum further hones their sound’s visceral impact into a tightly wound kinetic punch. “Das Ende” bounces with irrepressible bass as rhythmic detonations echo across the smokey dance floor. Hérr McKenzie’s vocals come in their trademark German as each blunt exhortation lands like a leathered backhand to the face.
The video for the track is directed by Trey Millward, with Lusk and McKenzie also making their appearances. Combining black and white footage of the two with images of mysterious objects and plants further cements “Das Ende”‘s compelling weirdness.
