KLÄMP is readying the release of their Hate You LP via God Unknown Records on September 18th. The group consists of former Mugstar member and God Unknown Records label boss Jason Stöll on bass, as well as guitarist/vocalist Greg Wynne (Manatees). The upcoming album also finds the pair joined by drummer Lee Vincent (Pulled Apart By Horses, Concentration Champ). Recorded in March of 2020, as the threat of COVID-19 was growing, the album’s six tracks are imbued with noisy angst and palpable sonic tension.
On “Arise,” the band unleashes their acid-scoured brand of psych-rock, and it is an epic affair. Barreling ahead at full speed, the group hops aboard a mantric guitar lead only to ride it straight into oblivion. With bone-rattling low-end and explosive percussion adding a brute physicality to the cut, “Arise” is propelled forward by this band’s furious intent. With Wynne at the helm barking stentorian commands like a hell-born wizard, it’s obvious KLÄMP is not one to suffer fools easily.
