Daju and British Underground have teamed up to broadcast the AfroFuture Sounds showcase at SXSW Online this coming March 16th at 7:00 PM (CT). Hosted by BBC broadcaster Remi Burg, the event will explore the evolution of Afrobeat and its many sub-genres through unique showcase performances from emerging and established artists like Darkoo, Wavy The Creator, and Loshh. Discussing the broadcast, Hannah Shogbola of the creative consultancy agency Daju, explains:
“AfroFuture Sounds is a true reflection of the ever emerging talent from across Africa with a key focus on West African artists. We wanted to platform the Afro sound and its diverse musical spectrum and this programme has something for everybody. Although it was created during a time of extreme restrictions it introduces unique upcoming artists all destined for success from Nigeria to London to Mozambique!”
Filmed in London, Nigeria, and South Africa, the showcase features live performances from six different artists. Tickets for the event can be purchased from SXSW Online here.
