BLOW “Full Delight”

The French electro-pop trio BLOW is back with a performance video for their new single “Full Delight.” Expanding upon the synth-layered palette of their 2018 debut LP Vertigo, the band’s latest effort, produced by the Kitsuné-fostered talent Crayon, finds them filling out more organic dimensions of their sound with Jean-Etienne Maillard‘s gauzy guitar and Thomas Clarice‘s lithe bass-lines combining with Quentin Guglielmi‘s hushed vocal delivery on the track. While the music itself might reflect the band’s urbane style, the lyrics reveal a darker message. They explain:

“Dark lyrics on light music. This sets the tone for our new album, whose main topic is duality. We often expose, threaten, get loved and love ourselves. Our society is increasingly contradictory. As beautiful as it is terrifying. Stardust lands on our closed eyelids. We only dream of a shallow life and race solo. It’s a full delight.”

The track’s performance video was directed by Rodrigue Huart (Her) and the production agency Paume. Shot in a deserted Parisian bistro, the visuals combine long tracking shots of the band playing with security cam-styled footage. The restaurant’s evocative, night-lit backdrop is the perfect stage for this simmering performance.
