The Chilean composer Jaime Cid has released a gorgeous new single with visualizer entitled “Explorer.” Based out of Santiago, but drawing his creative inspiration from the countryside of the world’s most Southern country, the young musician explains:
“Living in this land has given me the opportunity to visit many otherworldly and beautiful places. The landscapes have helped me with inspiration, and I think this can be heard in the music style I’ve developed throughout the years.”
“Explorer” is only Jaime Cid’s second official single, but his music already has a quiet and mature confidence. The track itself was born from the remembrance of vast night skies in the Southernmost part of his country, perfect for watching the “galaxy’s spectacle of lights,” he explains. Like the stars which inspired the song, Cid’s composition seems to twinkle as chiming patterns refract in a vast stellar space. With swells of cosmic strings and slowly evolving melody, “Explorer” creates an experience of wrapt wonderment.
The composer has also designed a very intriguing visualizer for the track. Abstract, yet evocative, the video’s central image is a jellyfish-like entity with long fibers of light languidly floating in a sea of deep blue. Pulsing and streaming its thin tendrils in time with the music, the visuals add additional hypnotic effects to an already captivating cut.
