Korol delivers an alien-sounding electro groove on the track “Control Me (Original Mix)” out now via LBR Records‘ “1 Track Every Two Weeks” series. The label reports that the artist is a 31-year old techno producer from Kyiv, Ukraine. After becoming acquainted with the local modular community in his city, Korol dove into producing music, quitting his day job in 2020 to focus on it full time.
“Control Me (Original Mix)” features primordial bass bubbling up from deep chthonic realms. Set against itchy breakbeat rhythms and eerily chiming extraterrestrial bells, the vibe is straight from outer space. Eventually, hard-driving bass lines combine with skittering percussion as Korol delivers the kind of funk that makes Detroit proud. With this kinetic groove established, Korol begins to work in the track’s titular vocal command as desire and control mix in seductively volatile ways.
