Magnus Josefsson is featured on a new episode of the Anette Records series Anette Halbe Stunde. Based out of Småland, Sweden, Josefsson is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and engineer who has worked with projects like The Amazing and Dungen while playing in the group Blända and the duo Vyn, to mention a few. Discussing his new half-hour release for the Berlin-based label, he explains:
“Thanks to my isolated situation due to circumstances and geography, I was able to create a new way of working. Music files flew back and forth in the air between Småland, Denmark, England, and Scotland to my friends out there. Sometimes isolation may be the best medicine for social interactions. This way of working has made me wonder even more about the non-physical world that almost becomes tangible in the world of soundscapes.”
Anette Halbe Stunde 011 finds Josefsson playing a host of instruments, including guitar, bass, synth, drum machine, and mellotron, not to mention being responsible for the field recordings found on the release. The effort also finds the musician joined by the guitarists Patrik Åberg and Theis Mikkelsen, bassist Johan Offerlind, vocalist Constant Follower, drummer and mellotron player Sylvester Schlegel, as well as synth-player Daniel Fridlund Brandt. Featuring two long-form tracks, Josefsson and crew create a beautiful, night-swept ambiance perfect for long drives or solitary, contemplative treks through the psyche.
