The Subsonics’ tribute album You Didn’t Think We Could Take It, Vol. 2 is out tomorrow via the Brazilian label Mandinga Records. Further testament to the brilliance of the trio’s output, this various artists compilation of Subsonics’ covers features an international collection of die-hard garage rock adherents, including Italy’s Ugly Sounds, Brazil’s Bang Bang Babies, UK’s Black Mekon, as well as the US-based artists Kid Congo Powers and Disturbios, to name a few. Today we check out Mexico City’s Electric Shit covering the Subsonics’ cut “Good Half, Bad Half” off the band’s 2005 LP Die Bobby Die (Slovenly Records). The duo’s adaptation, “La Bondad y La Maldad,” is a rollicking ride through the glam rock gutter, and it features the Texas-based harmonica and sax player Walter Daniels.
