The New York-based producer, composer, and digital artist blends instrumental hip-hop, chamber pop, and field recordings into a 45-minute journey through an ever-colorful and psychedelic audio world. “Neon and Wheat” is as good of a starting place as any. Built around a plangent hook with a groovy island-pop vibe, this cut is like landing on a sunny off-planet archipelago filled with curious musical creatures. Neon waves of blue wash at your feet while tiny birds warble in the surf. Better hurry and grab a spot on the warm sand, though; it sounds like this once private beach is filling up fast.
