The F16s are back with “Easy Bake Easy Wake,” the second single/video from their upcoming EP “Is It Time To Eat The Rich Yet?” due out October 22nd via HOUSE ARREST. The visuals follow up on August’s home-spun effort, “I’m On Holiday,” and they once again find the band at the heart of the action. Directed by Lendrick Kumar and Prayoon Sajeev, the video depicts The F16s epic inter-group struggle for wealth and fame as they battle for possession of a golden egg.
The track itself covers a lot of ground with stylish aplomb as a finger-snapping groove gets dressed up with horns, backing vocals, and a rap interlude. However, the group reveals that “Easy Bake Easy Wake” took its own time coming to completion with various sections “being switched out intermittently till we landed on the winning formula.” In contrast, the band explains:
“The video was a whirlwind from conception to completion. While we felt the need to keep it DIY, we acknowledged that an educated outsider’s perspective and process mattered. Lendrick and Prayoon had previously worked with Josh and his solo project, and their work spoke for itself.”
